The O Circuit in Torres del Paine National Park is a demanding one-week trip through some of Patagonia’s most rugged and unvisited areas and includes its most famous sights and routes. With two days of 10-hour hikes and a total of 110km, you’ll appreciate the rest days in the park’s stunning scenery and epic base camps.

Itinerary

After flying into Puerto Natales, a driver will take you to the bus terminal to get to Guarderia Laguna Amarga. From here, you transfer into Torres del Paine National Park to reach the Central Campsite. Be sure to rest up and get lots of sleep because tomorrow is your 10-hour trek to the Dickson Glacier.

It’s a long day of walking in the remote northern part of Torres del Paine today, with roughly 10 hours to reach Lake Dickson. Following Rio Paine and passing the Seron Campsite, you approach the Dickson Glacier and arrive at the Dickson Campsite, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and views of Dickson Lake. The refuge is a welcome sight after the impressive trek.

Today, you’ll have some time to recover from yesterday’s walk before you embark on the next leg of the journey. It’s a short trek to Perros Glacier through ancient forests, finally arriving at Lake Perros. Enjoy the forested campsite at Los Perros and rest for the night.

This is your second long day of trekking, passing through the famed Paso John Garner known for its strong winds from this high altitude. From 1200 metres high, you get an unreal view of Grey Glacier below and a beautiful descent in the valley to reach the Grey Campsite.

Relax and recover in the morning before taking the short hike to Lake Pehoe and its incredible turquoise waters. In the afternoon, you reach Paine Grande and spend the night under the watchful eyes of the Cuernos, waking up to see the iconic black-tipped needles reaching for the sky.

This morning, you leave Lake Pehoe behind and hike towards the French Valley by reaching Skottsberg Lake and skirting around the Bariloche Peak. You’ll get amazing views of the jagged Cuernos on the way to Paine Grande ridge, the highest peak of the massif at 3,050 metres. Back down into the valley, you descend to Nordenskjold Lake and arrive at the mountain hut.

Hiking along Nordenskjold Lake with views of the Cuernos, you’ll reach the junction that enters the Ascencio Valley. After crossing the river, you arrive at the complex of Las Torres, one of the park’s most popular base camps.

You’ve successfully completed the epic O Circuit, and your adventure comes to an end. A driver will take you from your hotel to the Puerto Natales airport for your departure flight back home.
